The Presbytery of New Covenant has designated Aug. 1, 2009 as the date to “blanket every community in our presbytery with acts of service and compassion by involving every one of our congregations in adopting a project.”
Plans are being prepared by the Mission Committee for members of the congregation of FPC-Kingwood to join in this Day of Service for projects with both HAAM (Humble Area Assistance Ministries) and The Mission in Porter. Many know of HAAM and many of our teenagers know The Mission. If you are unfamiliar with either organization, please visit www.haamministries.org or www.missionne.org.
Please make plans to join us on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, by visiting our table in Fellowship Hall in between services on Sunday. We are planning to meet at 9 a.m. at the Church on Aug. 1 and we will divide up the participants to go to either HAAM or The Mission. We recommend that each participant bring a water bottle and dress in cool clothing.
