Join Us March 29th for a Presentation Highlighting Artifacts and the Bible

Where Did the Israelites Come From? or, Who Were Those Guys at Jericho? One of the great controversies in the field of Biblical archeology is the conquest of Canaan by Joshua and the Israelites. Did it actually happen as recorded in the Book of Joshua? Was there a Joshua? Was there even an Exodus?

Early archeological researchers in the Holy Land did not find evidence to support the traditional idea of an Israelite conquest. This spawned an entire school of thought centered on the idea that the Conquest never happened. The early Israelites were in fact nothing more than either peaceful, pastoral nomads who wandered into the land, or disenfranchised Canaanites that moved away from the cities and over time, became "Israelites." Now, slowly the archeological record is beginning to swing back to more evidence supporting an actual military incursion and conquest as depicted in the Bible.

Join us Sunday evening, March 29 at 6 p.m. to hear our own Dub Crook, long-time teacher of the Present Word Adult Disciple class, give a program on who the early Israelites were. Dub, who has authored 38 professional papers in the field of archeology, will use all the latest evidence to demonstrate both what we do know and what remains to be discovered about the early Israelite people. Actual Israelite and Canaanite artifacts will be part of the presentation and you and your family can actually handle a part of Biblical history. The presentation will be a perfect companion to our readings in the books of Deuteronomy, Joshua and Judges.
