STORYLINE Walk Thru the Old Testament Seminar Feb. 21
Feb 4, 2009
STORYLINE at First Presbyterian Church-Kingwood, our yearlong journey through the Bible using the Daily Walk Bible-New Living Translation-began in January with an incredible congregational response (more than 500 Bibles sold and counting!) and continues with a special event this month-a Walk Thru the Old Testament Seminar on Feb. 21.
The seminar will be held on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., at FPC-Kingwood. Tickets cover the cost of the seminar, workbook, lunch catered by Panera Bread and snacks. Adult tickets are $30; tickets for students in grades 5-12 are $20; and tickets for students in grades K-4 are $15; however, no family will pay for than $80 to attend. Walk Thru the Old Testament is one of two special STORYLINE conferences to be held this year.
Walk Thru the Old Testament is without a doubt one of the world's most popular seminar event. And it's not hard to see why. Audience members are taken on an unforgettable adventure back to the beginning of time. From there, the instructor introduces participants to prominent Bible characters and weaves together their various stories onto one clear timeline. As participants learn about the major people, places, and events of the Old Testament, God's ultimate plan of preparing the world for the coming of Jesus Christ is revealed like never before.
And it is a lot of fun too! Forget tedious note taking. Attendees will learn the material using hand signs, catch phrases, group reviews, and enjoyable interaction with the instructor. Walk Thru the Old Testament introduces people to how the Old Testament links together and ultimately leads to the cross-and rekindles a desire to seek God through daily Bible reading.
Walk Thru the Old Testament will feature two enthusiastic speakers, Bruce Caldwell and Randy Osborn. Caldwell, an associate pastor at Woodland Park Community Church in Colorado, said he looks forward to leading FPC-Kingwood in an action-filled day of learning, as the Bible "unfolds before you as never before." Osborn, a pastor in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, has ministered in churches since 1987, including in prisons and inner city ministries.
