2 Peter 1:5 says “In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge

The Library at First Presbyterian Church Kingwood is designed to do just that.

Greetings from the Librarian

Librarian Phil WagnerHi, my name is Phil Wagner, Librarian at FPC-Kingwood.  I want to extend a personal invitation for you to stop by and see the outstanding selection of books, periodicals, and tapes just waiting for you.  Our Library Associates are ready to help you find just what you are looking for.  Did you know, an inspirational biography could minister encouragement? Volunteer in the Library!

If you have time or talents to share, we would welcome the opportunity to talk with you about opportunities we have to minister to our congregation.  We are in need of Associates (volunteers) to work during our hours of operation,  helping with shelving books, writing book reviews, and doing small projects. If this sounds like a ministry which would interest you, then get in touch with Louise Hite who is responsible for scheduling or stop in and speak with one of our friendly Associates.  You can also call the church office, 281-390-555.  Leave your name and Louise will be in contact you.  You can email her at ';h1477880869='earthlink.net';document.write('' + linktext + '');

Yes, we do lose items from time to time.  All we ask is that you contact one of our Associates during the hours the Library is open to let us know.  Our policy is to ask you to make a donation of comparable value to the Library Designated Fund which will allow us to replace the item.  Please do not automatically purchase a replacement because we may have a newer edition of the book or can purchase it at substantially lower price.

Does the Library accept donations of books?

The Associates and Staff of the Library appreciate your donations.  We welcome materials (Books and DVDs) for Children, Youth, and Adult, Adult Christian fiction.  As a general rule, we prefer to accept only books by authors with a Reformed faith due to space limitations.  Your donation will be reviewed to determine if it is appropriate for the collection.  The item should be in good condition with no ragged pages or broken bindings.  If the donated item cannot be used in our Library or it is a duplicate we will 1st add the item to the “Free Book” cart.  We also share with other libraries or organizations.  If is your responsibility to determine the value of your donation for IRS purposes as we are not permitted to determine this.

How else may we donate to the Library? You may contribute to the Library by giving a cash donation. This is often done in honor or memory of a teacher, leader, or loved one and if requested, the staff will place a bookplate in the book. These donations should be designated for the Library
