Missions Projects

Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you, a stranger, and invite you in, or, needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?  The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Matthew 25: 37-42

Missions

First Presbyterian Church-Kingwood is an action-oriented mission church that actively participates in mission work in our community, nationally and around the world – including frequent trips to churches we have built in Peru and Mexico.

Wherever FPC-Kingwood members go they are constantly seeking to honor God through the passionate worship of God and compassion for others.

Through mission work team members:

  • Learn about the work and witness of local faith communities;
  • Build relationships with area Christians, other people of faith, and with each other;
  • Serve with members of the local community to meet local needs;
  • Experience another context in which the Christian faith is practiced;
  • Worship with local congregations, and;
  • Reflect on the mission team experience in light of the gospel.

There are scholarships available for those who cannot afford to participate with their own funds. To download the scholarship application, please click here.

To participate in any of these mission activities, please contact the church office at 281.360.5555 for additional information. We look forward to participating with you in the work of our gracious Father!

The Missions Committee welcomes the opportunity to further the personal discipleship and offer opportunities where the congregation can partner in God’s mission to the world through both benevolent giving and through their personal participation in their enthusiastic response to Jesus’ second commandment to love your neighbors as yourself and in their showing Christ’s compassion and love to the sick, the poor, and those in need through their active support of and involvement in activities in order to become, more fully, the person that God has intended us to be.  If any member of the congregation desires to seek the benevolent financial support through a request from the FPC-Kingwood Missions Committee, the Missions Committee urges you to first begin by reading its Funding and Disbursement Guidelines.  Please feel free to contact the Missions Committee Chair for additional information and to schedule a time for you to discuss your request at the next meeting of the Missions Committee.
